A folk tale that has been handed down from mouth to ear in seaside towns and villages in the mountains. Kazuko Ono, a folktale visitor, has been begging for "folktales" by hitting the doors one by one for 50 years in Tohoku. Based on the visit diary that describes the journey, we knit texts of various characteristics such as folk tales, letters, and literature that we heard, along with the feelings that we got from the trip. One book.

An introductory video recording the interaction with the author, Kazuko Ono, was screened until Onishi, who was in charge of the design of this book, and Shimizu, the editor and publisher, created a book. On the extension line, the owner of LVDB BOOKS, Uebayashi, talks about delivering books.

A video recording the interaction with the author, Kazuko Ono, was screened, and the various attempts made to update the classics, which emerged as an extension of the film, were discussed and unraveled from both design and editing. go.

In commemoration of the publication of Kazuko Ono's book, "I want to go on a journey"
We will hold a roundtable discussion with designer Shoichi Onishi and PUMP QUAKES (Rieko Shiga, Chinatsu Shimizu, Yuki Nagasaki) as guests.
When I witnessed the memoir that wrote the 50-year history of the folktale visitor Kazuko Ono, who is the basis of this book, "While using folktales as an entrance, I was able to think about various ideas such as philosophy, art, and society. What kind of editing and shooting did you take the experience that you felt was "a book that was lost", responded with design, and knitted this one book?
We will unravel the charm of this book from the aspects of quiet typesetting, various reproductions born from the restrictions of one monochrome color, bookbinding design and printing, and bookbinding.
At the venue, you can see a movie that shows the process of making books made for this day as well as printing and binding production materials that you can not usually see.
You can also purchase the new work collection "I want to go on a trip".

Kazuko Ono, a folktale visitor, has been traveling to listen to folktales while hitting the doors of each house in the villages of Tohoku for 50 years. The book "I want to go on a trip" is compiled around the visit diary. There, the "history of the people" told along with the folk tales and the "flock of stories" born from the indispensable situation are spelled out based on the feelings gained from the trip. Many of the narrators mentioned have already died, and it is conceivable that they have experienced as many (or more) farewells as many encounters, but Ono has always lived through those encounters.

Mariko Takeuchi, a critic, visited Ono for the first time at the end of last year, and described the wonder, "I feel like I've met again." It's a useless humor in his book, Silence and Image, "If you get stuck in front of just one photo, or if you can't just see what you see, it's useless humor. It may be because Takeuchi had already said, "I have no choice but to live the photo, that is, the encounter, with the expectation that it will be laughed at as a performance."

What kind of "encounters" have the two people, who have continued their tremendous steps, regardless of generation or place, have lived so far? In commemoration of the publication of "I want to go on a trip, I want to come and go", I talk around the book.

* We will also sell "I want to go on a trip" at the venue.

The first publication of "PUMP QUAKES" consisting of photographer Lieko Shiga, curator Chinatsu Shimizu, and video engineer Yuki Nagasaki is the seaside. The travel diary and journey of Kazuko Ono, a folktale photographer who visited the towns and villages in the mountains for 50 years in Tohoku while hitting the doors of each house. The story behind. What did Mr. Ono look at in "folk tales", begging for something that doesn't look like "folk tales" at the eaves? A video recording the interaction of the production process with the three PUMP QUAKES, the weight of things that are likely to disappear from the world, things that are cut off in our current life, neither scientific nor rational I would like to screen and talk about the secret story of the production.
