FREE BOOK TOMORROW (2020)

Updated: Apr 20, 2022

In this project, we built a space for people to gather at by utilizing scrap wood—traces of the house that used to be there—left untouched in the garden north of the Kyokusen Bookstore. We took down the concrete-block wall that divided the garden into two and rotated it to make a long table. We arranged stools also made with scrap wood and set up a free library on the southern side of the garden with a collection of books selected by the members of PUMPQUAKES. The bookstore’s first-year anniversary poster was designed using a photograph taken in this garden.
